you also need two hides 1 on the warms side the other on the cool side a heating pad and a heat light if the tank isnt warm enough with just the heat pad

ok dont panic you nead everything above pluss a good lid with small vents for air and make sure u have a good size waterdish that the snake can get into so it can bath in pluss talk 2 people in your lockel reptile shop they should know wat they talk about f they dont then just walk out an ask them plenty o questions it dose no harm

You need to first decide what snake you are going to get, I'd suggest a Cornsnake they are the best starter snake in most keepers opinions. Second go out a buy a book specific to the keeping & husbandry of the snake chosen it will cost $5-$10. 3rd read the book & it will contain everything you need to know to get started. 4th come back here & ask the Qs the book has not answered for you. 5th setup your stuff. 6th get the snake. Make sure the enclosure you use has a secure lid. sounds like you already have a tank so you will be likely using a screen type lid. If you can get a locking type & if not make sure to weigh it down in the corners with something heavy to prevent the snake from pushing it open. You may want to consider getting a snake specific enclosure that is built for snakes, Mark

Very low maintenance pet (unlike any mammal pet). You can go on holidays for a week & if the light is on a timer you don't have to even have anyone stop by (unlike any mammal pet). No noise (unlike any mammal pet), if kept clean no smell (unlike any mammal pet), no allergy issues (unlike any mammal pet), no shed hair around the house (unlike a dog or cat). Always contained & controlled (unlike a dog or cat). No accidents around the house & no issues with the neighbours (unlike a dog or cat). No license required (unlike a dog or cat). Easier & cheaper to maintain/feed than any mammal pet. Etc. etc. etc. Mark

A water bowl big enough for the snake to soak in & possibly a humid hide The snake to be kept at the proper humidity for the species, may require daily misting. A rock or something for the snake to rub against. Mark

Nothing really, slight pattern variation for a slightly different look. Mark

i dont know about a jungle ball python..but we bought my new ball python from the pet store and paid close to 180 for him...but got a sweet deal on my set up..i will show what pics i have of him at the moment..mom got rid of the camera cause it wasnt working right and is trying to get our old camera fixed asap..it was nicer anyway!! gonna cost prob 200 dollars for the camera...but we got the tank, bedding , heating pad, lid, bowl and 4 hopper mice and a small cage for them, mouse food and snake for under 250 dollars...heres the picture of dremora my ball python , the first pic is of dremora in its tank..the 2nd pic is me..i'm only 17 and my mom really likes snakes..they are easy to maintiain and like he or she said above..all the things they said are true..snakes can be very very gentle as long as you handle them alot. dremora ate her first hopper yesterday..it was cool to watch! mom was like awesome its got half of it in its mouth..swallowing.too cool. hope the pics help your cause!!

witch would be better a male or female cuz the pet store that sells them has a male and a female the male is $60.00 and the female is $75.00 so witch would be better for a beginnger or don't it matter

females usually get wider than most males and if you want to breed later get the female now that way if you decide to breed later on the female will be full grown and able to breed

ok and is that a good price for her?
Best thing to do and it was already said,, Buy a book on the kind of snake you would like,, read it, then read it again. Get as much info from the forums as you can. Research the snake of your choice, realize the care and needs of the snake. Don't be afraid of asking questions.
