First put the cat as far away as possible. If u have rats in cages put a cage near the snake tank on the floor. I had the same problem I always found them or my wife would but always in the bedroom near the rats a week later. I hope u find your snake good luck.
Cheers

Congrats on finding your snake! I know how if feels when you lose one, my BPs have gotten out more then once and I always find them.......... believe it or not I acually used to use my cat to my advantage. I have a calm out VERY fat cat, and when I lost my BPs they would always be hidden somewhere in the room so I would bring the cat in and put him down and follow him closely and he would ALWAYS eventually go to the spot where the snake was hiding and start twitching his tail! lol, I wouldn't recomend this with every cat, but mine was not much of a hunter and found the MIA snake more then once after I had completely pulled apart the room looking. Animals just know when other animals are around....... :)

Now that you have found your BP, you may want to determine how he keeps escaping. What is your setup like? When my Spotted Python used to keep escaping, I had her in a tank with a reptile lid that attached to the top. Turns out she was able to push it up enough that she could force her way out.

i lost my bci for 2 weeks and i have 3 cats and 1 dog. The only explanation i could gather was that the snake pushed the top off. So i put 2 clips on the top and the snake hasnt gotten out since. I suggest you do the same, losing a snake is a terrible feeling.

Glad you got it back :)
I have a 40 G critters tank, the lid (screen) in on rails, the frame of the lid get latched on one end, and on the other I have a little padlock.
So far, mine never escaped (touching wood)

Another bright one....
Instead on having to look for your escaped ball python "X" number of times, fix the cage ONCE so he won't get.....
