Whats up people, just came across the link to this forum and thought I might broaden my horizen a little. I am originally from Texas, but live in Australia and have done so for 8 years. I love the availability of pythons, colubrids and elapids here, and have quite a little collection. Currently the head count is 14 pythons of various sorts, 7 elapids of various sorts, and 1 ridge tail monitor, 2 eastern water dragons, and a handfull of Central Bearded Dragons, oh and almost forgot, one Australian Rainforst scorpion. We breed our own rabbits for food, and have a helping watchfull eye of our Seal Point Birman named Oscar, and hoping to get my set up done in time for some hatchling fresh water crocs, but that all depends if the set up gets finished in time before.

I get jealous of what is available out there, as I am a huge Adder fan, and there is some things that I really would love to get my hands on, but laws and importation states otherwise. So I guess I am lead to overseas forums, to look and drool. Anyway hope to get to know a few of you on here as it would be great to see how things are done differently abroad compared to here, especially with our local varieties that you guys get your hands on.

Cheers

Thanks mate, I am sure it will be a pleasure talking to you all about reptiles and anything else for that matter. Being restricted to just Australian taxa, we as keepers tend to be very particular about certain aspects of what we keep, for example a person might keep western browns but particularly fancy the black headed phase versus the spotteds or the bandeds, and same goes with most everything in the herp hobby over here because like I said we are restricted to jsut native fauna. I tend to be more classical, I stay away from albinos, hets, hypos, and even the striped phase coastal carpets. My list is:

Pythons
0.0.1 Athertons Jungle carpet python
1.1.0 Bredli
1.2.0 Darwin Carpet(almost identical to classic Iran Jaya)
2.1.0 Water Python (Queensland form)
1.0.0 Olive Python
1.0.0 Proserpine Coastal Python
1.1.0 Brisbane Coastal Pythons
0.1.0 Cape York Coastal Python

Elapids
0.0.1 Tiger snake (Notechis scutatus)
0.1.0 Coastal Tiapan (Oxyuranus scutellatus)
0.1.0 Inland Tiapan, fierce snake (Oxyuranus Microlepidotus)
0.1.0 Dajarrah Death Adder (Acanthopthis antarcticus)
0.0.1 Yellow-faced Whip Snake (Demansia psammophis)
2.0.0 Colletts snake (Pseudechis colletti)

then the ridge tail monitor and the water dragons and the bearded dragons

Welcome! Kick a$$ collection you have. It's my dream to go to Aus some day and see as many local reptiles as I can
