I am getting a new boa, it is a male and I am playing heck with a name. It should be arriving by plane next Wednesday. I have narrowed the names to these four.
Jazz
Magic
Tattoo
Dejavu
I have my family voting, but thought it would be fun to see what you guys think. After I get him I will let you guys know more about the new guy. Needless to say, I am Jazzed as heck. Anytime you get a new animal it's like Magic. If I was a person to wear a Tattoo it would probably have a snake in it. Every time I get a new animal I get the same feeling, sort of like Dejavu
Thanks

I never name my snakes. Grumpy got his name after he displayed his true nature, grumpy.
I'd wait and see it's attitude, let the snake clear it up for you :)

The snakes that I own that do have names were given them based on attitudes, markings, size etc. once I had them for a while. If I have something that comes to me that I start to call them, they get a name, if not they remain nameless. Its not a thing I ever plan in advance, it something that just happens or doesn't, Mark

I see, the logical ones, LOL,,, I have done the same, wait and name them, then I change the name,,, I always get stuck so this time I thought I would try and plan ahead. I name all of mine. I have Bo, Twista, Curley, Precious, Munch, and Ding Dong. It is a lot easier for me naming them. That way when I am telling my wife something she knows who I am talking about. I have looked at some web sites and the breeders that talk about snakes with names makes it a lot easier for me to relate when they talk about a baby and refer to a parent by name. I guess it is like kids to me, we name them ahead of time, rather than wait to see if we should name them Two Toes or something like that. I guess some families are so big, they refer to their children as boy number 1 or the second from the last or something like that,, LOL.
Anyway guys, I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving, and hope your Reptiles have a good one too.

Thanksgiving? You Americans are behind the times LOL we Canadians already had our turkey back in the begining of Oct LOL It was good, hope yours is too. Cheers Mark
Of the choices, I would have to say "Dejavu". Of course my past choices of names never seem to be appreciated by other. My first snake was called "Boots", the next was called "Belt", I have a family of turtle whose last name is Soup....

I know some friends that had a huge, super aggressive Retic that was called Boots as well. They called it that because one day he just may be made into them LOL They were always joking, but his name was given as per his attitude. "Better behave or you'll become boots". Mark

all our snakes our tagged for example: ksb06ho01m, ksb07dhs02f or brb07-03f, for species, date of birth, type, number, sex, looks confusing but if very straight forword and makes it easy to keep things in check. I think naming any pet is great but it is best to wait untill he arrives, makes it more of his name than a name. TY Adam have fun with your new boa
