Feeding is good I got lucky so far they all eat f/t and all eat outside of their enclosures but sand boa's are known for going off feed every once and awhile.

I swear, if you want to start a 12 step program, I'll be Bill W, except that I'm not willing to quit.

It is all I can do to not get every damn boa/python from craigslist that I can.

Space, money, energy. I have the misters, I just need the room. My dad always taught me to never quit.

Why count something as a morph when it's not are you going to try and sell het Flames and het Nuclears when there's no such thing if so best of luck with that.:):)

Hey Guys,

some that I can name are Amel, Bell Albino, Paradox Albino, Anery, Snow and if you would like to include some selective breeding on top of the nuclear and flames, there are striped and banded available.

Just a clarification. Nuclears are not locales or simple genetic morphs; there are no hybrids or hets...
They are plain old East African Sand Boas that, over many years, have been painstakingly selective bred for high orange by Roy Stockwell (and they ain't plain anymore...). They are exceptional animals but are just line bred animals. Thus, breeding them to anything else does not result in a hybrid or a het; rather it reverses all of Roy's hard work over the years (unless bred to another nuclear ;)).

I never heard of hybrid sand boa's let alone in Ont. only heard of crosses and the most recent one that I know of is the "Snowstorm" snow x flame.:):)

wow!!! it seems like a lot of pople are losing their love for reptiles. By hybrid I am meaning two selective breed animals producing a hybrid of traits, this can be size, color, etc. We breed KSB's like bettas of the boa world ie: like Roy Stockwell, also to say that they are plain African's is a very big big under statement. you will not find the majority on designer ksbs any where in the natural world like other herps as well, in my eyes making them all very special indeed. I am not reversing any ones hard work yet we are creating new and wonderfull KSB's by adding new Blood. really you should try it some time and one day ksbs will be as diverse as the common corn snake (lol). Bad Attidues, I'm Out.

Ah first off what the heck are you even talking about (do you even understand wht you are saying yourself? I don't) LOL relax guy! People are discussing things like is meant ot happen on open forum. Facts are being pointed out here. Those that truly love their reptiles like to get their facts straight not post their misinterpretations of them ;)

This here is a very misleading, confused statement:
By hybrid I am meaning two selective breed animals producing a hybrid of traits, this can be size, color, etc.

So you are taking standard terminology & twisting/changing its meaning now for your own purposes & interpretations? A hybrid is not an animal produced by selective breeding within the same speices. A hybrid is a cross between 2 species of seperate genus, sure it can be done seletively but is not remotely close to what is considered "selective breeding". If you are seriously interested in SB morphs & selectively bred lines of them, as far as Canada goes Roy Stockwell is the KING hands down. He has been selectively breeding them for years as has already been pointed out. A true "old schooler" like Roy would find it very offensive to have someone call years & years of selective breeding "hybridizing". Something that it is very clearly NOT or ever will be. Most "old school" herpers are dead set against hybrids, some even against morphs. No one is saying things should not be bred selectively to bring out desirable traits, but many folks are dead set against hybrids, you are obviously confusing the two & are failing to see thats all that has been pointed out. An animal is what it is despite how pretty or colorfull it is not a morph unless it has been proven genetically to be a morph. Terms like morph & hybrid are not things that are "thrown around" to be used to describe things that are neither. Us folks that love snakes like to make sure these terms are used & understood properly as there are far too many misconceptions out there when it comes to snakes already & folks come here to learn so we might as well try to teach them properly rather than start redefining long standing terminology to mean different things. A spades a spade, its not an upsidedown heart of a different color with a little tail ;) Cheers Mark
P.S. I guess this means by wanting the facts presented properly I have a bad attitude & am losing my love of reptiles eh LMAO if only you had a remote clue of how much someone such as RMBolton truly LOVES them & the amount of time & effort he devotes to them & their conservation. We should all kneel down before him & do the "Wayne's World thing" as we are not worthy in comparison LOL The guys probably spent more time tits deep in swamps than the average turtle ;)

Hi smith4031,
If you are upset about my post then I apologize. I was not replying to you or anyone in particular. While I was reading the thread, words like hybrid and het came up in a discussion about nuclears so I thought a clarification was in order (again, to no one in particular). I do not know how I could have made my post any nicer (was it offensive in some way?); direct and to the point is what is required when presenting factual information...
P.S. Thanks, Mark! :)
P.P.S. Note also that Roy's line of nuclears is far from plain, as indicated in my original post.
