Linds had mentioned that she can't wait to see her E. subflavus undergo their color change so I thought I'd post some older pic's of ours. These pic's are about 4 or 5 months old I believe but they can give a good example of how much these Boas realy change.

This is a slightly blurry picture of one of our males. I have found that males tend to grow slower than females. Both of our males have also retained more of their Orangish color.

As you can tell from this shy female, she has lost most of her coloration.

Heres another good example of how our males have kept their color.

Another female pic.

These are just a few examples of what happens during the color change. I realy should take the time to update some of the Jamaican pic's. I'll try to do so first chance I get.

Thanks again,

Darren,

I'm always amazed by our Jamaicans as mine don't really look all that much like yours............even though they are brother and sister......lol

Nice snakes!

I really like the colouration of the females as they get older. My big girl is a six and a half foot, black, yellow and orange beast. That one male of yours has very nice contrasting black markings. My male is quite brownish.
I obtained my pair in 1994. I bred them for the first time in '99.
My female dwarfs her mate. I should make sure to remind you that there are reports of ophiophagy in Jamaican boas, wherein females have killed and consumed males introduced for breeding trials. Last year she did her best to do the same to my male, but I saved him!.

Simon,

Your adult Jamaicans are awesome nice looking! I can't wait until mine get that big. I'm hoping to bring in a new bloodline from Europe this year to diversify the Canadian Bloodline.

Corey
P.S. I've got some pics of your adult Jamaicans (taken with my Digital when I was at your place last year). If you want I could post them for you.

Simon,

Thanks for the kind words. I'm very happy with the way the Jamaicans are turning out. I stil doubt I'll ever breed them. At this point I'm just happy being able to keep such beautiful boas.

Take care,
