well from the looks of this site now (been gone for a while ) jeff is gone and this site is now primarily American (nothing wrong with that ) , what happened while i was gone , i hear that this site is supposed to get better , i liked it the way it was , what happened, i used to know almost everyone on the site , now i havn't seen anyone at all that i knew befor. this is too bad , this used to be my favorite site , i am gonne go find jeff and smack him for makin a stupid mistake lol .. ( """""""NO OFFENCE""""""") well since this site is for the most part american now i have no use for it ... see you all around maybe

Well not sure how to respond to this, but here goes.

Jeff has been gone for years. He sold the forum to an American company. They drove the site into the ground. It was hacked, filled by spam posts. I came a long bought the site, and have been trying my best to rebuild the site. Do I think Jeff should be smacked upside the head. Maybe, but sometime we all need a good smack upside the head. As to the site being primarily American, I can not say. I am from Canada, and so are a lot of other members. Does it really matter where anyone is from as long as we are here to discuss our love and passion? Just my two cents.

why would you have no use for it since the site is mostly american? not all americans are as bad as people say they are(if thats what your saying). If you are(I"m not saying you are), you should give all of the american people on this site a chance because all of them are very friendly and smart people.

I think lots of people need to be smacked up side the head...but not because of site being sold and you think it's now "American". I don't think it should really matter if the site is "American" or not now, you need to look at it as a way of getting herp information from other sources like Jason said. Maybe you should give it a try before you say you have no use for it. Also my two cents.

i am really really sorry i didn't mean to offend anyone i have nothing agains americans , i just have no ambittion with all the bullsH!T that comes along with shipping over the border. and about the Jeff thing , i whent to school with him and i havn't seen him in a while either so i am in the dark here as to what happened , it's like turning on the lights after 2-3 years and everything is different , forgive me for being blunt , sorry , really i am .

Us Canadians are coming back to the site in droves now that it is actually being looked after and ran properly!! I know I left here very unhappy and dissapointed some time ago and I for one am very happy that SSNAKESS.com is back on track. Welcome back and stick around and check it out for a while maybe post some classifieds and see if you get any Canadian interest... I'm pretty sure you will.

Nothing to worry about. I have to admit that everyone seems to be fairly easy going, and it is a shock when members drift back after being away for sometime.

On the Jeff front, if you or anyone else tracks him down, I would really and I mean really like to talk to him. I still hold out hope that he has a back up of the old galleries and I would love to get them back online.

This site is coming around for sure more and more people coming back I hope this site does do great it used to be good along time ago, lets hope it will be the same again, I think in today's reptile industry more and more new people are breeding and keeping reptiles and hope the word gets passed around about this site. I am sure the mod or mods has emailed all the people that has been here and signed up before this site went to @#@##@&* and let all the people know it has been bought and is making a good turn around and getting more and more people sign up I really hope this sight does come back it used to be really good for knowledge and information , discussion in the forums and in the classifieds always snakes and reptiles for sale.

This site is definitely not the site that it was in it's heyday (before Jeff GROSSLY mismanaged it and drove it into the ground) but it's something.
As for the American posters on here, I think Jay meant no harm in his comment, I think he was just stating (If I may Jay) that with all the American forums catering to American hobbyists and customers out there, this site (and the other) are (were) the only two predominantly Canadian sites for Canadian reptile enthusiasts. American breeders will rarely ship their goods to Canada and when they do, a six- eight month CITES waiting list and shipping costs gum up the overall pleasant experience.
There are still some great Canadian breeders, though maybe not on here. Look around, we're out there......

I am an American and I am an a$$ so its ok and you can't offend me. I use to party in Canada all the time when I was in high school so that has to count for something. I lived about 10 minutes walking distance from the border.

Actually your first post is kinda funny. When I think about the site I normally thing of it as primarily a Canadian site.
