Hi all! It's been a while. Been through having another (and my last) human baby, and moving up to the Northern Virginia area....

When we moved I found homes for my python and cornsnake, sold them to wonderful people I still keep in touch with who are taking great care of them both.

When we first moved up here, I didnt have room for reptiles, not to mention that when I was pregnant I couldnt stomach the f/t rats, lol!!!

Thinking about getting back into keeping snakes. I miss having a python in a house. We finally bought a house after being in an apartment for a year or two after relocating, and so now I have all the room I could possibly want. Heck I could put a retic in the basement if I was so inclined (which is a joke, fyi!!)

Nice to see a lot of familiar people here, the changes to the site look amazing, and I look forward to chatting with you all again!

Thanks Artemis,

It has been a slow process, but the forum is getting back to normal. It is amazing how the need for another pet draws a person once they have had to give up their last pet. Congratulation on the child by the way.

I was sad about that. When we moved up here from the country in Va, to NoVa... the cost of living was dramatically different so we ended up in an apartment after we sold our house and DH acclimated to his new job. Being back in a house again, and now being a stay at home mom and not working, gives me a lot more freedom to purse my interests and share them with my kids.

I am considering it, not lightly.... there is a reptile show in Richmond in a few weeks, and I might go and look around... thinking about a nice baby pastel jungle bp. Albino BP would be the greatest but I simply cannot afford it. Now, someone locally is "selling" a GTP aru with setup ready to rock for reasonable adoption fee. I have Chondro drool at the corners of my mouth, but with the holidays coming I cannot afford to spend too much money on myself, lol! Santa DOES have to come.... ha!

I might as well threadjack my own thread... cause everyone read and no one wrote (Come on, Linds, I saw you man! Others too! Trick or Treat, come out, come out wherever you are!)

I was thinking about whether or not you think the gender, and particularly of boids.... affects their temperment. Do you find one gender to be more chill than the other? Share your thoughts as keepers of multiple snakes.
Does gender make a difference when thinking about a "pet" snake. (and I know snakes are not pets and blah blah blah, I mean a snake that isnt going into a breeding rack and will get handled a bit more often.)

TIA!
