hi there guru ive seen ur work and its fab craftmanship was thinkin ur home must b massive u lucky thing u .. u seem 2 have a large setup how may snakes n reptilies do u own and wot breeds if ya dont mind me askin ......... also if its no probs wi u knowin so much about snakes how could i find out about my ghostcorn's age n sex .the pet shop closed down so could not find out from them as i didnt know at the time as it was my hubby that got him/her as a surprise new pet for me on the 20th o july this year. so when i called them a cupple o days later for the info as it was the w/end yep u gessed it was closeddown. theres 2 reasions y i want 2 know the 1st is im sick o sayin he/she or him/her or his/hers every time i talk about my sweety and the other is for her/his age n sex (breedin) need the age so i dont mate him/her to soon and sex as well the oddveous lol.. if u can help in anyway that would be fab .just let me know wot info u need n i will try my best 2 give u it. hope 2 hear from u soon ..SP..

Im not the guru but I have a few suggestions, first thing I would do is find out if there is any herpetocultural society's in your area, im sure you would find someone there who could probe your darling, that fails im sure a vet with some reptile expieriance could help also, just may cost a few bucks, and for breeding.. age isnt really of much importance, I know plenty of people who have bred corns at 18 months, size is the real issue, I havent bred corns in a very long time, and i cant think of the apropriate weight and length most people go by now days, im sure someone more up to date with that can give you some pointers there, good luck and congrats on your new bella/bello! ciao..

ty for the info .. not realy wantin 2 let my local vet there as they were not up 2 scratch wi pet rats i new more than them pmsl .. i dont know any1 around my area that has any kind o snakes im a lil snake lover in a big area lol
i thought o carlisle but its a big place so findin some1 2 have a peep would take ages so were could i check for the herpetocultural society's in my area could i do it on the net i,m not a comp wizard lol ur help is most apreacheated

Hi Sara Ian here im just in Ayrshire just up the road from you i keep amazon tree boas, Madagascan tree boas and Haitian boas! Reptile vet here are few and far between and dont have a clue about herps i will have a look round for you and post or pm you when i find one in your neck of the woods!

mines just shed i checked her lengh shes now 64-65cm long now since i got her shes shedded 3 times every shed is a month between each 1 and always 4days her last was on the 3rd sep this 1 was 7th oct and she grows 5cm over the month period. i,m a sucker for writein things down and this is wot i found out .. its handy 2 write how many it eats in a feed and when it sheds and the size it is after shed so if ya need 2 take it2 a vet u have all the info at hand.
a few Qs for u if ya can tell me or wanna i understand if ya dont want 2
1)when did u get ur little one (i got chu'si on the 20th july)and wot size was she
2)how many sheds since u got her if u messured her wot was her size
3)how many pinkys dose she eat and how often
im soz 2 ask ya these but its strange that there is a big dif in our snakes sizes over double yet only 2 or 3 months dif in age u see when i got my snake she was 50cm long
dont be alarmed it could just be each snakes dif or it could be were we live or even the place told one of u a fib on the snakes age as i seid im just sucker 2 find things out

ok after u fed ur snake btw wot his/her name dose he she still look for more if so try it with another but keep the feeds weekly after 6 feeds try him/her with 3 pinkys still feed weekly get back 2 me after 4 weeks on when 2 start feedin fuzzys when i got mine she was on 3 pinkys n as i told u that was in july thats wot the breeder told me

u have shaveings dont u do this for ur snakes health use a tub or somthing 2 feed stewie in as if it swallows some shaveings it could damage the insides of the snake also next feed in a feedin tub try stewie with another pinky if dont take it no harm but try every feed if he/she dose its gd 2 smaller meals in 1 is better than goin 2 large a pray 2 soon

i have my 2 corn snakes ghost/snow and a few years ago a had a some wild snake 4 about a month or 2 but only the 2 know and im getting a king snake in march plus an antherixtic corn i only had snakes for about 6 months

I don't change any routines. Just because it's shedding doesn't mean anything except it will probably be a little crankier, and it may soak more than normal.

Other than altering how much I handle mine, trying not to cause undue stress, I don't change anything.

Yea I usually dont mist my snakes anymore while they are in shed either. Just keep a routine. My favorite snake is a Black Mamba.. Even tho I would never own one. God I love them. LoL. Just not goin to play with one....:eek:

all snakes are fab but eeekkk wouldnt keep one that could eat my other pets our my kids lol i like 2 play safe

Very sorry for the late reply, been rather busy around here lately. I'm not really a breeder, I do this mainly as a hobby, granted some I breed for fun but not much else than that. Right now I have somehwere in the mid 60s for snakes pretty much everything from Colubrids, Biods, Venomous...mix of everything.

Kind of looks like age and sex thing has been already answered so I won't bore you with details. LOL Again sorry for the late reply, time has been divided .
