How long can a 1-2 month old snake live wo food. My new baby ball is not eating. Tried to feed him ft rats and mice and even live mouse 0 response

Depends on the snakes body mass index, stored fats and such. I don't have an answer on the time frame. But you could go back to smaller live prey and see if that does the trick. Use pinky, peachfuzz, or small fuzzy mice and see if the baby will go for that. Also at 1-2 months if being fed right they're going to shed a lot. So maybe it's going into shed????

An 8 week old snake, regardless fo BMI cannot survive for more than maybe 6 weeks without food. Since I'm not sure how long he's not eaten, you might want to assist feed or explore other options. What is your husbandry like? I've hatched over 300 baby balls and maybe two have refused to eat outright. I'm guessing your snakes lack of interest in food might have something to do with incorrect husbandry. More information would be helpful.

we have a male and female ball python together one is 2 weeks old the other 2 months correct temp maybe wait till she sheds the expo !@#$ed me this time :(

You keep a male and a female ball python together?! 'Nuff said. Fix it and maybe your ball won't die.

There is no reason to cool your balls at night unless they are breeding. 90-95 ALL THE TIME. That's your problem, as well as housing...

As suggested seperate them. Faster the better, they feed WAY better if housed individually. For temps no night drop as suggested. 90-95 warm & 80-85 cool. As for how long can they go without feeding it varies but in the case of baby Boids they can go a very long time as long as they are not becoming thin or lethargic. An example of such happened here last night. 1 of my baby diamonds just finally took its forst meal at exactly 4 months old. It was starting to thin down but was not sickly or lethargic. The thing most folks fail to realize is that baby snakes dod nothing but eat for the first 2 months inside the egg & some come out with large yolk guts on them. I have had baby snakes go into their second sheds at 2-3 months old prior even taking a meal. They were just growing on their yolk guts still. Most of the baby Diamonds didn't show any interest in food at all until around 2.5-3 months old. This happens every year with all my GBs as well. Quite a few are 3 months old now, have shed twice & still haven't eaten. This was always the case with my Mtn Kings as well. As far as Boids go my friend Kyle had Jaguars this year go 3-4 months before starting as well as other Carpet species. Sometimes it has nothing to do with husbandry but everythig to do with the snake not actually being hungry yet & still living off of yolk. Back to the BPs I would do as suggested seperate them & keep the temps up, feed late at night & try with a small live fuzzy & go from there. Mark

I know of folks that have actually cooled them for a couple of weeks & then brought them back up & started trying after the brief cooling to simulate brumation as you have mentioned, Mark

guess what the mites are gone and i took her to the vet and she did a few things and did something to stimulate the appetitive and she took a pinkie rat down like a pro yay

ps she said the temp and housing is good
