View Full Version : poop
My ball hasn't craped for two weeks is there anything wrong with him ? Oh and when he last craped he was not probed like he is now and he was on mice now on rats.
If you have just switched from mice to rats, it may take a little longer for him to digest the food. Is he/she showing signs of any problems?

Im not sure of what the signs are, but I know my ball goes to the rest room about 1 time a month usually. You could try soaking him in luke warm water. That could help him out.
My ball is only 3 and a half months how old is yours
could age effect it

Im not sure on that one, I have not seen mine while they were shedding. But its possible.
I have a couple of questions could a light and heating pad on 24 hours a day increase electricity by 24 hours a day and could getting another and putting her with mine while there shedding hurt my snake
Huh??? That was English, right......
sorry i meant could a light and heating pad on 24 7 in one month make 40 dollars on the electric bill. could getting another ball and putting her in with my male when hes in shed affect him

Honestly I dont think that it could raise your electric that much, because I had to get about 6 or 7 different animals in my house with the lights on 24 7 to make any difference on the electric. I dont think putting another ball in there would hurt anything IMOP. My buddy kept 4 balls in one tank and they just huddled up together under one of the hides.
first deal with your poop issue, how often do you feed? typicaly pythons only defecate once after each meal, bound up for 2 weeks is nothing to worry about, if a month goes by and he still isnt going then maybe start to be a little concerned, now for your hydro bill, most likely it wouldnt increase the bill by that much, all depends on the wattage of the light and heating pads though, snakes like any other animal need to have a photoperiod of some sort though, leaving the light on 24/7 is not beneficial for your animal at all.. now for the housing of more then one ball in an enclosure at a time... I would say most deffinately not, balls on some very rare occasions have been known to consume other balls, never heard of an instance with older animals but with hatchlings it has been known to happen, and then there is your snake not "pooping" say you toss a new snake in there and a few months down the road you find out the reason he wasnt "pooping" is because he was loaded with parasites, or had some other problem that was transmitted to your new snake, its almost impossible to keep track of who has defficated and when, I could go on and on about why its a horrible idea to house them together but im sure you get the idea, IMO the only time a snakes should be housed together is for a brief time for breeding purposes.. any way, good luck with your new critters and happy herping!
Lights On 15 Hours A Day the pads on the rest of the time. He Craped Fine Until He Was On The Rats So No He Could Not Have Parasites we feed him every 6 days. IMO PUTTING TWO TOGETHER IS FINE AS LONG AS MALE FEMALE OR FEMALE FEMALE
why ask questions if you already have your mind made up on what your going to do? not sure on how craping fine on mice and not on rats proves it has no parasites though, good luck.
sorry I uh just wanted a few opinions we will see what happens tomorrow
