Size of Tub?

What size of tub would be good for a trio of rats?

I keep breeding colonies of 1.5 in bins that are almost 600 Sq. inches. so I would imagine 1.5-2 sq. ft. shoud be more than suitable for 1.2. Below is a link to my rat rack setup.
