HA! Now that is Ghetto Fabulous! Fantastic man.....but not so weird....actually I've found some of the more tempermental ATBs like the feel of natural wood instead of steel and tend to be more relaxed on sticks such as that.....well that is until I started working with the rubber coat stuff seems to help a lot.

Good one!

Why not add some perches for your tree boa? :)

Actually I have 3 nice ones, 2 logs and a big perch that was in his cage. But the place I got my aspen from had mites in it. There for he had mites. Took out everything that was wood to get rid of them, I will buy him some more when I know that he is free and clear of them.

if you use provent-a-mite you can keep the cage furnishings.

That's fantastic! Provent-A-Mite....yeah you could (because it protects the cage and inahabitant for up too 2 weeks...this from the label) so what then you have to reapply all the time because it didn't get the ones burrowed into the wood? 2 weeks come up....if you don't reapply, ohhh instant reinfestation....yes sir that sounds like a plan to me. LOL Nice.

PAM is a powerful insecticide....if there are any mites or eggs in the cage, it WILL kill them. Since when do reptile mites burrow into wood?

Yea I could spray them down really good, but if any do survive then I have my problem all over again. I will just wait it out. Should have the mites taken care of in the next couple of weeks. It will all work out.

Which really makes you wonder how safe it is to use since there is a laundry list of problems, warnings, and precautions.

Ok...burrow may be to strong...how about this: wood = pourus material = easy for them to get down into all the little cracks that spray can't make it into.

I just soak the stuff for a week....drowns them out and I don't have to wear a gas mask.

Hey man...you do whatever you need too, fumigate the house for all I care, not like I have to deal with the mess.

If any mites survive one or more treatments of PAM, then you have a whole nother can of problems because you're dealing with an obvious mutated race of "super-mites" lol.

The spray does not have to come into contact with every square inch of a surface to be effective. If you treat a cage and cage furnishings with it, then any and all mites/eggs who come within contact/close proximity WILL die. Theres no ifs ands or buts lol.

Now who's the "Know-it-all" LOL Well at anyrate I do believe "reptilenut4sure" already has the situation well under control so hey just another one of those mute points.

Well I certainly don't know it all, but I know that PAM kills mites very well lol.
