I know in Illinois where I live you need a furbearers license for mammals and can't own native Illinois animals without some license of sort. I don't really know if there is a law dealing with these snakes. I don't think so due to the fact that they are easily obtainable in pet stores and reptile swaps. I may acquire another snake from someone who had no idea what they're doing, and would want to take it to the vet. I'm just trying to make sure they wouldn't go and report me to someone if I didn't have a required permit or something.
