View Full Version : moving
I am moving accross the US from the east coast to the west. What would be the safest way to transport the two snakes. And could this potentially cause harm and make the snake stressed and eventually cause the snake to stop eating. Thanks

Get yourself some stryofoam coolers or fish shipping boxes. Make sure they provide good insulation not only from the cold, but more importantly from the hot. Have the snakes in pillowcases or rubbermaids (or both preferably) & have lots of crumpled newspaper (or something) in the box(es) around them to make sure they are well protected from banging around etc. A few airholes thru the side of the styro as well (& thru the rubbermaids of course too). I'm assumming you are driving them? If not make sure the box(es) used meet airline standards & use a known respected shipper with experience shipping reptiles. The shipping will stress them yep. Just give them a week or so to adjust to their homes once they have arrived & things should work out fine. Biggest worry is to protect them from extreme weather. Mark
p.s. I guess being in the US you can also courier them, but I personally wouldn't do it. Transporting them yourself is the best bet. Also make sure they don't eat for at least a week prior moving them & that they had lots of fresh water prior. Make sure they get a nice fresh drink on arrival as well.

Agreeing the above statement.
Could take a couple of weeks for them to get back into the swing things.
