There's been triplets too! I might have a pic on my computer still. It's from prehistoric pets. They had triplet albino retics!

I wonder If you could selectively breed snakes so that you get ones which have a greater propensity to have multiples in one egg. Perhaps eventually have a snake that gives multiples most of the time.

I remember once I bought regular store bought chicken eggs and every one of the dozen had two yolks.

Or is this unrelated to genetics?

i DONT THINK ITS GENETICS i JUST THINK ITS LIKE A 1 IN A BILLION CHANCE.

Well, the problem with twins is that they tend to be smaller and weaker...so if you were trying to breed for more offspring, you're better off breeding for females that lay more eggs, rather than eggs with multiples. Are there actually 4 baby retics in that egg, one deceased, or is that something else masquerading as another head on the right there?

i DONT THINK ITS GENETICS i JUST THINK ITS LIKE A 1 IN A BILLION CHANCE. No reason to yell LOL & having twins is related to genetics as far as I'm concerned. Pretty sure its been proven genetically in humans, not sure about snakes though. I had (now sold) a pair of snakes (Lavender Albino CKs) that had produced a conjoined twin (2 headed snake) & then twins 2 years in a row after that as well. The second set of twins was actually just the female bred to another male snake so possibly she is a co-dom? Thats "twins" 3 back to back years. Hardly 1 in a billon (more like 1 per dozen) ;) Pretty sure there is something going on there genetically though. Pretty sure it works like a co-dom in humans too. Mark
P.S. have had twin Corns few times too as have a few folks I know. Had a friend have a double header as well.
EDIT - Congrats on the twins BTW :)
