Is there anthing wrong with him?

My ball python has these pale colored patches on the top of his head and one of them just recently changed to the color white. Also theres a couple of these things along the sides of his mid-section that look like maybe dead skin so i think it might be scale rot. Anyone know whats goin on?

wait nevermind about the one patch taht turned white he just put his head in his bowl and it went away lol, but still whats with the other stuff?

Could be some missed shed scales, or even dry skin....what's the humidity in the cage at? Try giving him a soak for an hour or 2 and see if they go away.

the humdity is almost always 50-60 except at night when i turn his heat lamp it becomes like 60-70 and i was thinkin of givin him a bath thank you for the info : ) also if i give him a bath and it works how long you think it will take for those things on him will go away?

If it's unshed skin, they should be off by the time the bath is over. They will probably be floating around in the water about 30 min into the soak.

hey guru i gave him a bath and the pale patches and the other things on his mid section are still there. What do you think i should do next?

Is there anyway you can get pictures of it? It's hard to diagnose things by descriptions alone.

Another possibilty is....sometimes after a shed cycle some scales won't be completely colored out....usually corrects itself next shed. It's almost like the color gets a little faded like they shed before they were ready too.

It is really hard to say without actually seeing what is going on.

guru im srry i cant get photos. I cant find my camera and my dad says his camera phone is a pain to upload pictures into the computer with so he doesnt want to do it. I guess im gonna have to hope that in the next shed it corrects it self like you said.

That's to bad, well if you do manage to get some shots let me know....otherwise just keep on eye on it....that missing pigment thing happens quite often throughout thier lives sometimes.
