Hi!!

I finally got my Blizzard Leopard gecko today!! It's a young male. I put im in a 10gal for quarentine. But when i will put him with my female, how will I feed them if they wont let me handle them? I want to put them together asap but i dont know how I will seperate them for feeding time.

Can you help me?

I am not sure what you are asking. Why do you need to handle the Leo to feed? If you want to separate them to feed after they are together, then spend time handling each one inside the tank so they get used to being held. Then get a critter keeper or something to put one in while you feed the other. Quarantine for at least one month. 2-3 months is better. Wash your hands with antibacterial soap in between handlings otherwise quarantining is useless.

Your response partly answers my question. I bought everything for quarantining my blizzard. But when i put them together, if I cant handle them yet, how will i be able to seperate them at feeding time? When the crikets run around in the tank the blizzard wont sit in the corner until my other gecko is done!?

You should definitely be able to handle them by then, at least enough to be able to move one to a separate container at feeding time anyways...

You might find that you can feed them together though -- most of my gang are fed at the same time, without any problems. Although I must admit that the first time I fed superworms to one of the groups, everyone went nuts and started going for anything that moved -- including their friends. LOL :) No harm done though, and they've calmed down again since then... As long as you keep an eye on both of them and make sure that they're each getting a share of the food, you might not have to worry about separating them at feeding time.

Hi,

My female is about 7 months old and she walks on my hand sometime. Can I just pick her up with no worry that I will over stress her and tromatize her? I have never attempted to pick her up, I always put my hand in the tank but she wouldnt get on it.
Any tips??

If I'm feeling patient I let mine walk onto my hand... if I'm in a bit more of a hurry though (such as cleaning time etc -- can't spend all day waiting for them to decide that they want to be on my hand) I'll just pick them up. This is fine, as long as you don't pick them up by the tail or something :) To reduce the stress, you can let them see your hand first so they don't just get picked up out of the blue and think that they're getting eaten or something ;)
If you don't feel comfortable picking your guys up if they won't walk onto your hand on their own, try scooting them onto it with your other hand... that seems to work pretty well, and probably isn't as stressful to them as being picked up.
As for getting them to walk onto your hand voluntarily -- try handfeeding (I use the yellow feeding tongs that they sell at the petstore) a mealie or 2 every time you have them in your hand -- they'll figure out in no time that being on your hand means treats :)

you could also cut a piece of plexi to size and just slip it down between them dropping some food on both sides
