Eastern Glass Lizard that came with the Burm the other day. Fast little bugger! LOL
Anyway there seems to be next to nothing about breeding them in captivity, so I thought it would be a neat project.

Indeed! LOL I was actually surprized....besides being a little wiggley It (don't know sex yet, still try to find info.) is fairly relaxed.....also I believe this one is a young or sub-adult....seems they actually get fairly good sized as adults.

They really are interesting little animals. Funny, I don't think a thing about snakes having no legs, but legless lizards fascinate me because of that.

They are so very interesting because they are almost like a "missing link" if think about it....almost snake like, but not quite.....they are just very unique and odd little things, they even taste the air like snakes tongue flicking in and out checking around for things.

Recently..... - Reptiles Canada Forums (http://reptilescanada.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19301) is a link to a thread by Crimsonking a fellow from Tampa, FL he may be able to provide some breeding insight. One of the pics in the thread is a mom on eggs. They are pretty cool looking creatures indeed, Mark

No not really, In England we have slow worms, there legless lizards too.
The difference between snakes and legless lizards is that legless lizards have external ears, eyelids.

It don't take legs to make them lizards ;) Mark

LOL.....yes indeed, there actually several species of legless or glass lizards....that's funny. But not the first time I've heard people get a little confused about the subject.

Guess that really makes them a missing link.

The Snake Guru
08-02-07, 11:43 AM
Yeah kind of, as we all know boas pythons still show signs of vestidgual limbs behind the vent now labeled spurs. But really it's all speculation based on the facts on hand. Interesting though that I would definitely agree too.

Spurs..... those little things male coral sea snakes use to grip the females when mating?

sorry I watch too much nature shows>.>

I don't know about sea snakes, but most all Boids (boas & pythons) have them & the males use them during mating as more of a part of "foreplay", Mark

LOL, yup exactly! I do think Sea Snakes have them too...not for sure but I seem to remember something on that.

Why does everyone want to steal my stuff! LOL Gonna have to put in a better security system I think.

RFLOL....yeah I don't know about that one....she can be rather determined at times.

Had myself a 2 1/2 hour wrestling match with her today......feel like I've been through the ringer and back again, It's all good though....I think we called that match a draw! LOL

RFLOL.....nah man....if she really wanted to kill me at this point there isn't much I can do to stop her. One of the hazards of working with large constrictors.

Indeed, it almost seems that way. Actually in Boas in pythons there are still traces of vestigual limbs....thus the "spurs" you can see on the outside of the body near the vent.

Glad you enjoyed the pics!
