 I need some ball python feeding help. My baby ball is about 1 1/2 ft long maybe bit more or less. Should i feed him fuzzies (frozen) once or twice a week? Thank you very much to anyone who replies!:)

Well I'm a fan of the once a week feeding schedule for young boids then once he gets older I go to every ten days. Many people will have different opinions however.

If you're feeding fuzzies I'd go twice a week. Smaller meals are easier to digest so it will be fine with 2 a week.

I'd go with weanlings or small adults right away. BPs can take pretty big meals. Even a small adult is only about the same girth as the snake is at that size. Mark

I'm on the 1 meal every 7 days schedule, they get one prey item thick around as the widest part of thier body every 7 days...though I do know of people who feed smaller prey items more frequently.

I am usually a bigger fan of smaller items more frequently for Colubrids, but for Boids, specially young ones, I like the 1 prey item every week plan. Quite often baby boids will only eat the 1 item whether it be a small fuzzy or a small adult & not take another. They eat one & then get all defensive kinda thing. Its good to make sure the one thing if thats what it ends up being, is of a relevant size. The same girth is a good guide & later upto 1.5 times the girth for bigger stuff. Mark

One thing to think about is that one larger prey item has more nutritional mass then two smaller ones. Fur, skin, and bones do not provide much if any (bones provide some but not as much as the meaty portions of the prey) digestable nutrition. I feed every 7 days a prey item abou the size of the thickest part of the snake, maybe a little bigger. Todd
