PLEASE HELP US!!! Beardies - fighting

We recently built a 5' wide x 2' deep x 2.5' tall terrarium.
We put our three bearded dragons together - 1 male & 2 females (who were living separately prior to this enclosure). About a week later we noticed that our smaller female's tail has been bit and now requires surgery. About 3 days ago - we noticed our male (who we thought was the attacked) has a broken (munched on) tail as well.

We have separated all three into separate enclosures however we want to only have a single enclosure for all our dragons.
Is there any hope that we will be able to house these three together again? What are the steps, or how do we go about making sure they keep their limbs next time. (Cause it's costing us WAAAAAAAAY too much money to have their tails fixed).

Simple answer? keep them separated. It's more important for your bearded dragons to be safe and happy than for you to have less enclosures. Unfortunately, that's sometimes just part of the package - sacrificing space for enclosures. I would not recommend keeping them together as they have a history of aggression. How bad are the tails? are the simply nipped or are the infected? It may not need such drastic action as surgery! How old are they? does your setup include multiple basking areas?

just a thought. I know i had to do this with fish and i thought it might work for this too. Divide the tank. silicone a peice of glass, or plexi glass or two so each beardie had its own space inside the cage. It is a way to seporate them and keep them in the same cage to save the room. Just make sure they are getting enough space still.

Gotta say I'm for the divide the tank idea (or seperate enclosure), simple easy fix and hey no more problems....everyone wins.

The last thing you would want is to lose one just because you want them all in the same enclosure. Better to separate them.

I always suggest to house all herps seperately except for breeding purposes for reasons such as this, Mark

i wouldent put two beardies in the same tank together unless your trying to breed them cause they can be extremly aggresive especially if there are two males in the same tank

iv had this problem myself and i found the best thing to do is have more than 1 basking area [at least 3 large flat rocks or bark directly under heat]and put food in at least 4 differnt dishes, you can also look when feeding live food which one is the aggresor and feed him/her by hand at one end of the viv. normally they interact very well together in that size viv, are you sure you dont have 2 males? iv had up to 6 together and had a simalar problem only once, and that time it turned out i had put what i thought was a female in that turned out to be a male. 2 males dont normally mix well.

also have you got plenty of branches in there? this gives them more space and retreats if attacked
