im having a carpenter build me a cage. so far its going to be 4x2x1.5. im going to have him coat everything with 4 coats of miniwax helsman, or polycrylic. wood i think is going to be either oak or pine. the front will be one large window of 3/8 in plexiglas. i was going to tell him to drill a hole in the back as to be able to put a probe for a ranco themostat. ( how big should this hole be and on top or bottom of back side?????????) i am going to have him seal the bottom with a coat of envirotex lite for added water protection. i am in need for info on it this sounds ok and if i should give him the go ahead.
i was thinking to heat the enclosure with a strip of flexwatt and a ranco therm with a sheet of plexiglass over it.
also. most importantly. how big and what should i tell him for ventilation. i was thinking of putting a long strip on the top of the back of some kind of vent but i really dont know. also could be put on the side as two circle vents. i just dont know like how big or what shapes.
im really sorry this is so long but its just that im going to be leaving college tomorrow morning and meeting with my fathers carpenter to give him the plans and tell him what i would like. thank you all in advance.
