Hi everyone,

Been quite a while since I last posted. I am moving and my new apartment does not allow snakes. I presently have a male Suriname Boa that is about 1.5 years old. He is about 4.5 feet long and eats 1 large rat every two weeks. He is presently kept in a 75 gallon show tank but now must be hidden away in a plastic enclosure because of my living situation. What brand, model, and dimension plastic enclosure ie rubbermaid should I purchase to house this animal to adulthood? How do I set it up for heat, air, and bedding? Is light cycle essential?

Thanks,

Paul

I have an underbed tub from sterilite that I got at walmart for like $10. It works great if your bed is at least 7" off the ground, even has wheels and a locking top. It's a 66qt, model 1995 or 1995LAB86, dimensions: 39.5"L x 20.25"W x 7"H, plenty for your snake. Get a heat mat from the pet sore and put it on one end with a shallow water dish at the other and maybe a hide in the center or whatever. Light's not too important if you are going to be getting him out a couple times a week for extended periods, but you should try to keep it the same schedule so as not to stress the snake.
