Hello hello hello. I saw my Ball pythons doing the big nasty the other day. I was super happy as I have wanted to breed for a while. I have a few questions. How successful are Ball Pythons to get knocked up/pregnant/gravid on the first try?? Is there a high chance that it will happen?? Also what's a good site to read up on the pregnancy/taking care of the eggs cycle of breeding?? Thanks for the help

get the ball python manual it will teach u everything u need about it. And good websites would be universities that study and breed the snakes they know alot.

You're lucky. I've got 2 corns I'm trying to breed and they don't even act interested. I have had them sexed and know they are male and female but the male acts like he has no clue.

A little late in the season, but could happen. The liklihood of it after just one breeding isn't great though. Multiple breedings are always best to ensure fertile eggs. Breeding is not something that should just randomly happen as a result of group housing either. It should be a planned event that is researched prior. Group housing of snakes is frowned apon by 99/100 responsible keepers. Not to say that you are group housing them, but even if breeding intentionally it should be fully researched prior attempting to do so. The BP manual as suggested is a great sourse of info, Mark

Hello there, sorry about that, I don't have anything for carpet pythons, everything you see on my web site is what I do breed and have the care sheets for.
Thanks
Chris

You "cycle" or cool them in the winter & then breed them. Pythons breed in the winter & it will be next season to wait for now. You will have all summer & fall to research. If cycled & introduced in the proper season there are pretty much no worries. Boids do not tend to kill one another its colubrids that you have to worry about, Mark
