What the heck is this

I dont have a picture yet but should get the snake tonight.
the snake is small about 10 inchs long, and about as big round as a pencil. Whats throwing me though is that it is black on its back, orange on the belly and has a orange ring around its neck. I live in west Texas to if that may help but I'm just trying to find out what breed it is thnks fir any info.

I'm guessing a ringneck snake? Not that I know much about them or anything, try a google search & see what that nets you, Mark

Ah NO. I'm pretty sure for one we are talking about a native snake (No KSBs in Texas ;) )& for 2 KSBs are thicker than a pencil even as babies, Mark

I have recieved the little guy it is indeed as suspected a southern ringneck
