hi. i breed my own mice 1:1 for snake food. i only have the 1 snake and he eats fuzzies right now. it saves me money yea but the thing is i end up with too much food heh. i freeze em when they get the size i need. so if anyone is in my area and needs mice pinkies or bigger let me know. i really hate to waste food heh.

I raised mice about 6 years ago to feed my 2 ball pythons. It worked out well except for the fact that i ended up with 50 + mice. I ended up spending a lot more on food and bedding for the mice compared to what i would have spent on mice had gone to the pet store and bought them when i needed to feed my snakes. not to mention the fact that mice smell like mouse urine/poop. good luck finding someone to give your little furry friends to.

yea so far its saved me a bit of money. the thing for me is that i could never find the right size i needed in pet shops. i need about medium to large size fuzzies and the pet shops around me almost always only had small newborn frozen pinkies (looked mostly like runts too they were so small). and i ended up feeding my snake 2 pinkies at a time. the thing is pinkies and fuzzies were the same price heh, so buying 2 pinkies was costing me more then just 1 fuzzy. thats why i decided to breed my own. not only do i get the right size food i also know there healthy. plus ive ended up really liking my breeder mice as pets lol. im just gonna seperate the male and female now so i dont end up with 50+ babies lol. i also let 2 babies grow up (1 male and 1 female) so i'll end up with 2 males in one tank and 2 females in the other and just mate them when i need more food. i already still have 14 frozen fuzzies in my freezer.

just be careful when you have more than one male in a cage. they can be very territorial, so its possible that they fight until one of them is dead. more than likely it wont happen, but i have seen it all. mothers eating their young, mice fighting to the death, ect. good luck with it.
