You should understand that snakes aren't dogs... They CANT and never will be happy when they are touched. They usually just tolerate it, that's it.

I suppose that the reason why he acts like that lately, is caused by the feeding schedule change. He's just looking for food because he was used to eat every week. Give him time, he will adjust soon enough. And if he doesn't ever calm down, take the option that maybe it's just the way he is...

Another thing do you feed him in a seperate enclosure??? People do it for many reasons and one of these is to make the snake understand that when you open the enclosure it's not for food but for manipulation...

I know its a long shot but is it a shedding issue?
Has the snake shed recently ? has it retained eye caps?
If the snake can't see clearly it will often strike at anything that moves.

What the snake is showing is not aggression, its defense (it doesnt sound like a feeding issue, its either scared of you or just doesnt want to be messed with). Dont approach slowely, dont hover infront of him, doing that sends predator warnings to him so they act accordingly. I've found often the best way is to just reach in and scoop up faster then the snake can thing. A snake hook too can help condition him to know when its time to come out. Be sure to double check its husbandy to see if his behavior isnt caused by an enviroment change.

Some more info about your snake might help us come to a conclusion. What is his age? What are the temps in the cage(high/low)? If it is a snake that is still growing(im guessing it is because you are feeding it mice) you should feed it every seven days, or shorter. All of my growing snakes get offered food every three days, if they want it they take it if the don't want it they leave it. Hope this helps. Keep us updated.

You can move up tp bigger prey items, this may help the ball stay full until his next meal. Or you can feed him mice, just more often. Hope this helps.
