I have a foot long lavender rat snake that I have bought recently. Everytime I go to pick up my snake and put my hand inside the tank it makes it head go into that "s" shape that snakes usually do before they attack. Then after about a minute of staring at me it goes back to moving around and I pick it up. Should I be worried about this sort of agressive behavior? I'm really scared that it will attack me or someone. I know that it cant do much hard to someone now but I want to make it less aggressive now while it still cant do much harm. What are some things I can do to make it more friendly??

Its just scared, thinking your a large predetor. When going to pick it up dont hover infront of it, just reach in and slip your hand under it to pick it up. Since you said you bought it recently I wouldnt handle it untill youve given it a little awhile alone in its new home if you havent, being put in a new place is extremely stressfull which makes it even more afraid. You just need to be patient but consistant, once it starts realising your not going to harm it it wont show that.

try gettin a snake hook, buy a new paint roller and take the roller off.
