Hi all, I'm not sure if this is allowed or not (moderators -- if not, feel free to delete this post), but I'm not posting a sale, I'm just looking for someone locally to take my sister's Redtail Boa, before she decides to let it loose. It's about two years old, 5 1/2 feet long, and she can't afford to feed it twice a week anymore. Anyone in the Buffalo/Western New York area is welcome to have it free of charge. Cage will be included. I'd consider delivering it for you too if you're not too far away. I'm trying to help her get rid of it before she gets too impatient and does something stupid.

Turning it loose is surely a death sentance, unless the rare chance of someone with a caring heart finds it. If it survives everything else it will not survive through the winter. If she cant find a good home for it make her have a little responsibility and give it to a rescue (many herp sociatys take in unwanted reptiles to adopt out to its members); I strongly, strongly encourage you to talk to her about doing whats best for this living animal, or if she cares so little for it then she wont care at all if you take it and bring it into responsible hands.

Thanks for the tips. She's going to give it to the local herp society. I hope it finds a good home. I hate to see animals released or abused. If it was a smaller species I'd take it in myself, but I'm not ready to take on the responsibility of a big one like that.
