Hi guys,

just wondering if any of you have had this experience. I recently visited a friend of mine and he owns a columbian boa. While I was holding his boa, i noticed some scales on top of the body missing here and there, like as if someone used a tweezer and picked them off. The area where it's missing is white/grey'ish colour.

Is it scale rotting, or what? i asked him about it, and doesn't know what it is either.

Any info would help.

Thanks,

paolo

Its hard to say exactly, without know the husbandry and history of the animal. My first guess would be rodent bites if its fed live. Did they just appear or have they been there for awhile? Of course if they're worried about it take the snake into a reptile vet to be looked at.

Like amanda said, it is hard to say for sure...

Ive had corn snakes lose scales and have the skin in the area turn green-ish...

I would keep an eye on it. I treated the corns issues on my own, so I wouldnt worry too much. Just, again, keep an eye on it.

Although, if you can get past the finacial issue, couldnt hurt to see a vet.
