I am building a couple 4' x 2' x 1' Cages and would like to put a removeable divider in them. Anybody think that using Plexi for the divider would be a problem. IE animals seeing each other and freeking out ??

Also I am going to be using one of the cages for my Chinese water dragon. I am currently using Newspaper for a Substrate but I woul dlike to use someting else. I was thinking something like Sand or top soil any recomendations on substrate.

There is not alot of risk of him eating the substrate while feeding as he normally eats right outta my hand.

Thanks
Charles

Just a quick question:

When you divide the cage in half, will you be able to provide a proper thermal gradient for TWO parts of the cage? That might be tough.

for the dividers you may or may not have issues with them freaking out but that depends on what species you plan on putting there. also you might want to make it non removable so you can seal the connection so if they're two similar species they can't pass something like an ri or other infectious diseases.

I built almost exactly what you're describing. By puting the heaters in the center of the tank it puts half the heater in each divided tank.

For a divider I just custom cut plywood.

That is what I was thinkin was doing something like running a pieces of flexwatt under the center of the divider
