Wow Dan... it's great to see how those patternless albinos have grown up -- they're amazing! Absolutely bright yellow... very awesome :)

Perhaps I won't be able to resist a couple of new babies this year after all ;)

Hey there Derek

Rainwater is the strain of albino the gecko is decended from. There are 3 strains of albino geckos out there as far as I know.

1. Tremper Strain named after Ron Tremper the first person to develop and market that strain of Albino.

2. Rainwater or Las Vegas strain again named after Tim Rainwater and now sometimes called the Las Vegas Strain that is where Rainwater was from. He unfortunatley ripped off alot of people so many people decided not to call the strain after him.

3. Bell Strain I do not work with this one and do not know alot about it but the pics I have seen they look like really dark colored albinos.

All these strains are albinos but the gene or genes that cause that particular type of albinism are located in different areas of the geckos genetic code. This makes the different strains incompatable when bred together. For example if you crossed a Rainwater Albino with a Tremper albino you would get normal colored hatchlings Double Heterozygous for both types of albinism.

Hopefully I have answered your question and not confused the issue even more.

Take care.

Dan

Hey Matt

Ya, he is not too shabby I must admit. I have some really nice hypo tang girls for him this year. I am going to breed him to some of my best striped females as well. We shall see what pops out.

Maybe we can do some more swapping again this year I should have some real nice Rainwater patternless albinos for you.

Take care.

Dan.
