View Full Version : flaunt your camera skills ???
I don't have any....
I just got my digicam and I've been playing around with it.
I have posted a slew of pix in the gallery but there are only a few that look ok.
Please be gentle with your criticism...as I have a lot of practising ahead of me.
I have more pix to take tonight so i hope they are better.
Thanks for peeking :)

lol were always gentle ;)
pretty good pics, though you might wanna wait a little for you camera to auto focus, the nice thing about digicams is you don't have to feel guilty for wasting film by bracketing (taking multiple shots of the same composition).
Also you'll want to play with your angles a bit, which will come with practice, but with the digi it's easy to practice that. That's the best way to develop an eye for doing good composition in the camera. another thing is cropping the finished photo.
Some decent software like photoshop or paintshop pro will give you full control and allow you to fix bad shots by cropping out the bad parts of photos, centering in on the subject and let you adjust lighting.
Mainly you just need to practice and get to know your cameras personality and features.

Pics are OK...You have to remember the minimum focus distance and switch to macro mode if you are closer than that. For pics of just snakes...switch to macro and get really close. For shots that show the back ground and other stuff...back up a little.
Lots of practice...and that's what's great about digital.
Also, I agree with Lisa...one of a digital photographer's best friends is a good image software. Photoshop or MS Picture It are pretty good ones.

Pretty good pictures, in no time you'll have mastered the camera, producing pictures to make us drool.
I'll go along with the graphics editor, it's a tool you can't do without. I use Ulead PhotoImpact - it's as good as or better than Paintshop, and reviews put it at one of the eaiest to learn, and up there with the pros. The best part is that it's soooooo much cheaper :) :)

What camera are you using? If you let us know, somoene with the same one could give you more personalized tips.
(did you say you have a one bedroom apartment??? ..... and all those critters fit in there?
:) :p ;)
