why?

I have a four and a half foot male albino burm which i have had for 7 months now and he has been great with handling. Never tried to tag me outside of the cage but yesterday when i put him away he went NUTS and tried to kill me threw the screen front. I think i must have startled him but he has never done this before. He tried to get me four times where he would lunge and not like for food like to kill. He flatened his whole body out too. Is there a reason for this or did i just scare him???

Chances are you startled him or pinched his tail or something while putting him back. I would recommend a new enclosure as a screen front is not going to be able to hold him in if he wants out now & will definitely be no good in the future when he is bigger. Mark

His new enclosure is built but just airing out at the moment. It seems i put the paint on to heavy or it was to cold in my garage when it was curing. But it is ready. He went crazy like jumping well over his body lenght and scared the hell out of me. I think it was just startled.

I know with my Womas they are as gentle as can be, but startle them & they turn into crazy hissing strikers until they calm down again. It gives me heart mumurs when they do it because they are all calm & then just start freaking right out, pretty startling sometimes LOL Mark
