I know there are all sorts of things that need to be bought for a snake tank. my boyfriend got me a snake as a gift for christmas, i love the snake i just wish he didnt do it because we werent really financially ready to give the snake what it needs.
I have never had a snake before. What are some tips on upping the humidity. I have a bowl of water and light, and hiding space, i have been misting the tank to help the shedding process. I just feel like I am missing here. My poor ball python :(

you can buy foggers but a cheeper way that i have heard of is you can put a small water dish (keek the main dish where it is ) on the under tank heatpat on the hot side of the tank that helped boost the hum in my tank.

hmm i dont even have a heating pad at this time.. the pet store said it would be fine to use lighting for now. i have an infered light for night...but lastnight when i got home from work, after i posted this, i went and sprayed his tank down and made sure he had plenty of water..he moved around a lot through the dish but didnt really soak.

As long as there is a sufficient size water bowl and you mist the cage once in the morning and once at night you should be fine. You need to have a dry out time where the humidity isnt that high

after the eyes have gone from opaque(cloudy) back to normal it cant take up to a week for the snake to shed out. And if it has a hard shed (the old skin doesnt come off fully) just soak the snake in slightly wormer than room temp water and the shed will come right off. I find that if you leave the snake over night in the water all the remaining skin will come right off no problem. Any other questions feel free to ask.
