I need some tips on feeding frozen pinkies.
I just got a baby cal king, and I'm so nervous! I've fed him once, but it was a live pinkie that I got from the same shop that I got the snake. My usual pet store only sells frozen pinkies. I presented the first(live) pinkie in a small box inside the cage that the snake could get out of but the food could not. I want him to get used to seeing this small box when its time to feed, but I'm afraid that if the food isn't moving, he won't stay in the box long enough to realize that its food.
So, any tips? Thanks!

I have raised many a kingsnake and inevitable, they eat eventually unless there is a genetic problem or a medical issue. Kings take a little while to adjust to a new environment. My fast little one refused frozen for about 2 weeks but now eats every time and more! She will eat whenever you feed without even looking at the prey, it becomes all about the meal....

Hope this releives ome stress.

Make sure the prey is totally thawed out & warmed up as well to simulate live. Never hurts to get some long tweezers or forceps & "tease feed" as well. Mark
