introducing a male to the female

just wondering teh best way to introduce my male to my female? coupel of minutes a day at first? or jsut full on? and what is a ok size difference to introduce them my male is the smaller one only a few months now and the feamle is a couple years. any help would be great thanks

if i read your post correctly...the male is only a few months old and the female is a few years old. if this is right you probably don't want to put them together. the female will be quite a but bigger than the male and will probably see him as food not a mate. or at the least she will pick on him. if i read this right , then thats my two cents

yea as of now he is alot smaller. i am of course going to wait till he gets bigger, he is about 11 inches i think.

what i do is i put the inductee into a rubbermaid and place it in a mid range temperature area of the tank, leave them there for a few days and they will check each other out. then let them loose and watch for a few hours...thats what i do anyway

see through one i assume. i might try that but only for half a day, so the younger male can get soem baskign hours in.
