Include the formerly recognized "deckerti" and "williamsi" in the quadrivittata subspecies.

It seems as though the Everglades win out by a country mile. I'm disappointed to see so few responses. I wonder why there's so little interest? Is it that there are so few here that even keep rat snakes?

I like the everglades rats too, they're crazy-orange. I hope to get one (or more) some day...I don't think it's a lack of people keeping rat snakes, though, I think it's more a lack of interest in them, which is a shame 'cause they're great little snakes...nowadays all you hear is ball python this and ball python that, lol.

I do have one female hypomelanistic Everglades. She's only a baby, and hasn't yet acquired her stunning adult colouration, but she's still beautiful. My prettiest snake of all, is the leucistic lindheimeri that appears beside this post as my avatar.
I agree with you that everyone seems to be raving about ball pythons, and that there's a corresponding disinterest in the obsoleta subspecies. I also agree that it's a pity, because they are really nice snakes.
The problem with this poll is that I love all the obseleta! I had an everglades, she was beautiful, but I'm not very much into orange. A full grown adult which I'm sorta kicking myself for selling for $30. <sigh> I think really nice looking yellow rats are awesome, and often over shadowed by the 'glade. Although I agree LTR's are beautiful! I have two males one of which decided to escape so I'm hoping he will reappear.
