I know it's totally normal for my hog to not be eating right now, but it's still really stressful....I moved her to a warmer room in the hopes that she'd come out of it and start eating again, but no success so far. *grumbles* She hasn't lost a significant amount of weight, so I'm just going to wait until it warms up I suppose.
She's exclusively a pet, and is probably going to remain so her entire life, so I'd really rather her not hibernate, but try telling her that! *chuckles* Ah well, I apologize for rambling.....

0.0! I'd never get her to eat a mouse for me again! She ate splendidly for me until winter, so I was just going to wait it out....do you think it would be better to get a bullfrog tadpole or something rather than waiting until it warms up? *worried*

Yeah, that is the downside, ha ha!! Is he deathly skinny or could he make it through the winter cool down. Is so, then cool him for 6-8 weeks and then warm him up and try rodents again. If not, yeah, maybe a ranid tadpole is the answer (good idea by the way!).
Keep us updated man. Not nearly enough people keep hognose snakes, let alone freely pass information about them!

She's not skinny, she looks just like she does after she's eaten and pooped. :)
I really don't want to cool her down, but that has been recommended by several people, so I guess I need to know how to do this.
I apologize for being a clueless beginner, but how do I cool her down? Also, is is safe for a hog that's only 19" to be cooled down? She's just under a year old.
Thanks again!

For Hognose snakes from North America, the general rule is to cool them down in a dark place for 2 months at 50-55F. Make sure they have dry conditions with fresh water available at all times.
Good Luck!
Sometimes you can't fight them, even though snakes have been kept for a long time they're still wild animals. if they want to brumate let them
