Hey i wanted to start housing my ball python in an aquarium now that my grandparents know and dont care that i have him. I have a 20x10x12 tank right now for him but im not sure what kind of lid i should use for the top. Any suggestions? A mesh lid would surely let to much humidity out i think. Any other ball python owners got any suggestions? Thanks guys.

ya.. a rubbermaid.. stess and heat/humidity is just not worth tanks...

just for an experence i tried setting up a 20gal the other day.. holy crap.. i spent hours tryin to get it right finally did and 1/2 hr later it was WAY off... tried again.. same thing.. a custom wooden or a rubbermaid is definatly the way to go...

ribbermaid is the best to house ball in for stress free and to keep the humidity up.but they not good for display.

comming from someone who loves their display tanks.. the security and health of the animal is far more important

Well, I still need ideas for lids. Im just gonna try it for now, if i can get the temps and humidity right then so be it, if not, then so be it. The only real reason i want him in a tank is for display, cause he seems not to be as nocturnal as other ball pythons, hes usually out and about by 6pm or so scavengering around. Also my family has taken a liking to him and him being in a tank would let them view him alot easier. Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it.

use mash and cover some of it with wood.

If you use a screen lid, just cover part of the top with a towel/plexiglass/wood.....works great for me. I have no more diningroom, hehe pisses the old lady off.... :zi:
