View Full Version : PLEASE!!! I really need everyone's oppinion!!!
Back to the sunken eye discussion....My cham/Panther has one eye smaller than the other ....Today I noticed his eye closed and him rubbing it on the tree. HIS COLOR AND EATING HABBITS are GREAT though. This is why I am so thrown off. Please send in all of your comments and suggestions. I would like to avoid the cost of a vet if possible.
Thanks
Mike

is there any puss or anything around the eye... there is a leo someone has that is having that prob.. the advice givin was to clean the eye with a wet q-tip and then place a few drops of poly sporin ( eye drops i guess) in the eye.. thats all the advice i can give.. but wait for a better opinion... it may cause more harm with a chameleon.. it works for leos though
no puss or any visual except for the recent 'shut' eye and that it is sunken in?????

I can't imagine a better time to consider a vet visit.
The only advise I can give is to mist your cham with water so it can flush its eye out. If debris is in the eye , your cham might try to force the eye lid inside out. Water can help. But, if it were as simple as debris in the eye turret, then that does not explain the sunkenness of the eye....
Does it open the eye at anytime?
How long has this been going on?
Is it possible that this eye is not sunken, but the other is actually swollen?
Can you post a picture?
Good Luck...

there is something wrong with the eye you have to see a vet
today he opened it again and periodically closes it....

Yeah I would say its time for a vet visit. It should not be very expensive if money is your concern. Hope it gets better!

around 65 for a herp.. id say go for it.. it would be easier to deal with than loosing a chameleon and definatly alot cheaper than replacing him...
