Ive always wondered: why females are more expensive than males in all morphs of every species?

More females = more offspring; more males do not affect the amount of offspring produced. Females are the limiting factor, so they are 'worth' more.

see i dont look at it like that one pastel mall bp could breed 6 or more females and make more than one female could my two cents worth

that's right. It also depends if the snake is of any color or pattern mutation. Dominant or co-dominant morphs tend to be more expensive on the male side because a male can be bred to many females at once and pass their co-dom or dom genes to many more babies...

ok, kinda like super snow leopard geckos. Its a codominant gene, where if the leo is a het for it, you can see it in its head and tail. If it is homozygous for it, then its completly black and white.

Morphs aside, you have to look at it like this. If you have 1.2 W. Hognose Snakes and the females each produce 20 eggs. That's 40 offspring from this arrangement. Conversely, if you have 2.1 W. Hognose Snakes and the same fecundity results, you'll only have 20 offspring. You double your monetary gain by having two females and, hence, females are sold at a premium because the return is greater with more females and, hence, the initial investment is greater.

1.0=male 0.1=female 0.0.1=unsexed :)

ex) 4.6.3=4 males, 6 females, 3 unsexed

well, it can be a baby :D thats why my blizzard leo is 0.0.1, because I cant sex a hatchling, and I wasnt told its incubation temps.
