I found this web site that sounds like a scam. Basically they have a set of questions designed to confuse people into giving them money to tell them how to keep leopard geckos. I posted it here, instead of the leo forum, so people dont get tricked into this over other species too.

Heres a quote from their site (the part thats supposed to trick people):

"Are you making these deadly (for your Gecko) mistakes?

Do you feed your Leopard Gecko proper amounts of prey and supplementation?
Do you forget to change the UV lamp every several months?
Do you use a heat rock instead of providing proper temperature gradients?
Do you keep your Leopard Gecko dry instead of providing adequate moisture?
Do you use Gravel on the floor (which is a BIG no-no)?
Do you hesitate to take your Leopard Gecko out of the terrarium?

If you Said "yes" to any or all of these questions - your Leopard Gecko is in a-lot of trouble."

I answered yes to the first and sixth one. Thats the trick, if you answer no to those two, then #1 your gecko will be too fat/thin/have MBD and #6 youll stress your gecko and theres more chances of it dropping tail/falling. (for #4 i answered no, because i provide a moist hide box)

I cant believe people are so sick as to prey on gecko owners. Heres the website so you can read all of it:

What do you guys think?

Maybe it’s just me, but I think that animal people care enough about the animal(s) in question that they will be willing give advice for FREE. That’s why sites like this one are made and stay alive. Then again, anyone who is silly enough to listen to those sites instead of doing actual research and getting advice from several people or places, and don’t pick up a more well know and respected book…maybe they deserve the lesson. As long as no animals get hurt in the process.
