Hi, felow reptile enthoseasics. I just ador creasted geckos, let me just list my
collection. I have 1 male named grove (my user name) and 2 females, one named twinkle and the other grip (she just won`t let go when biten) and they are all over a year. Because I am so obsesed with creasties I have been thinking of breeding them. I need some tips that a web site wouldn`t give me, you know.

Sorry Grove, but I don't know what you mean. If you would like to know some specific things, then ask away. There are so many different aspects to breeding, that it would take a day to write them all down.

You should only breed them once you feel you know as much as possible about them, that's my philosophy atleast. Even I have questions at times, but I prepared myself as much as I could without experiencing it before I started to take care of the lives of these remarkable geckos!

Well rather than start another forum about breeding I figured I'd ask this question here. Figured it would help both Grove and myself. I've read on a number of websites that you should provide an egg box for the female to go in. I normally find reference to this when they are using papertowel for substrate. As I am using cocofibre and have a little area higher than the rest in the back for my female to hopefully dig to bury her eggs, should I provide a egg box? What are peoples experiences with the hide boxes? Are they necessary?
Thanks

I've used a lay box with great success. Your way will work too Danya. I had a group of girls all using the laybox, until one decided she didn't want too. After she got away with it a few others thought they would too:D
It was okay though as they were all laying a week or two apart so it was easy to keep track of whose eggs I was finding!
If you have potted plants be careful with them as well. Cresteds will dig right to the bottom!
Just have a general day that you know your female is laying and keep an eye on her! Good Luck!
