When breeding leo's why do you have to remove the eggs?? Why can't they stay in the box they were laid in?? As you can tell I am new at breeding and am in the process of learning asmuch as I can so I can start breeding my geckos.
The reason we remove eggs is so that they can monitored and in a temperature controlled environment. Though sometimes eggs can be left in with animals, it's common practice to remove eggs from species that do not maternally incubate their own eggs, such as leopard geckos. Leopard gecko eggs however are quite hardy, and do not necessarily need to be removed as long as there is a stable temperature somewhere between 80-90 degrees, and the egg laying box can maintain adequate humidity levels. Hope this helped :)
