I own quite a few different leaf tails, U. Henkeli (Henkel's Leaftail), U. Sikorae (Mossy Leaf Tail), U. Lineatus , and U. Phantasticus ( Satanic Leaf Tail). They are much trickier to take care of than Cresteds. They make amazing display animals in a naturalistic display, and at night they come alive and move slowly and cautiously around the tanks searching for prey, but they are not nearly as active compared to cresteds. If you are looking for geckos that will tolerate light handling then Uroplatus are NOT the right geckos for you. They do not take well to handling, and when taken out tend to jump far and fast and could easily hurt themselves. The Mossy leaf tail has such delicate skin that any restraint by you could rip it. Thy are also much pickier when it come to humidity and temperature. If you are really interested in them, try to buy from a breeder as a local pet store will charge you a huge amount for a captive bred specimen, and if it's cheap at pet store, then it may be wild caught, and wild caught Uroplatus are even more delicate and should never be purchased......They are other geckos in same family as cresteds that make great pets, like gargoyles, chahouas.....hope this helps, and more questions just ask, you can PM me if you like......

they like to be kept cool to,mine are in my basement with no added heat at about 67-72 depending on the time of year.
i misted my mossys every evening and they did great-just gotta make sure they have very good air circulation.
Stangnant humid air seems to be the big no no, other than that i find all the uroplatus pretty easy.
i was lucky enough to get some eggs from my lineatus this year and have 1 lil guy hatch.

Good luck!

Galad - No worries with those temps. Yes they can go down into the 50's and still be perfectly okay! Congrats on the new addition as well, they're great little geckos!!!
