Hey Paul,
I'm trying to figure out if the last picture of the striped Borneo, is the male. Please comment! Also, what was your incubation method, no substrate or Vermiculite? They, the egg's, all look great. Awesome job.

Hi Angel,
yes the last pic is the adult male, he's about 6 years old. the female is older, but in shed right now so when shes clean i'll get some pics. im hoping that its a dom gene that produces the stripebut we'll have to wait and see.
the eggs were incubated in a large drinks cooler, with about 6" of water inthe bottom. it was heated with a submersible water heater, the eggs were in a med rubbermaid and then placed on 2 layers of plastic egg crating with about .5" of water underneath. Near the end of the incubation i put a bit of vermiculite in just to soak up the excess water. Out of the 19 eggs all hatched, but i did manually pip them on day 61.
thanks again for the kind comments,
Cheers

Hey Paul,
Awesome job with the no substrate method with the Borneo's. I have not tried it with the bloods or short-tails, but know that it does work. I have used it with chondro's and it does work great. Good luck with the babies.

I'm planning on using the no substrate method for all my pythons, my 2 chondros are out on loan, but my ball eggs will be done the same except im building a bigger incubator.
I only kept back 2 hatchlings, both are in the picture.
Cheers again,
Paul

This is my first Short tailed or blood

I got him at the Arlington reptile show

the snakes don't live together (this is all in a thread on general discussion)

the man said that she has the brightest head of any Borneo he has bred, he has bred them for 10 yrs. It looks like a bright pumpkin in real life. Her name is pumpkinhead (I like the movie to)

she is 3 1/2-4 ft long maybe smaller.

THANKS!!! Saturday morning they had a lot of nice stuff. We left at noon. We saw a nice tiger retic about 7ft. Pair of blackhead pythons and others. Was Snake pet snacks there? the guy there is Otis. Known him for about 9 yrs. That is were we got the xanthic ball, and speckled kingsnake from during the show. Good luck on your hondo!

Yeah they were there. It wasn't bad, I just hoped there would be more of a selection. I went today so some of the people may not have been there.....

Hey,
Nice stuff you picked up, but my thought on the picture, considering that you are dealing with some very new animals, is to not put anything together, until you are certain that there is nothing wrong with either of these herps in light of the fact that cross contamination can occur. Just my thoughts on it. Quarintine always makes for a better experience in the end and in the long run.

Alright...my turn :zi:

My big female Dora ~ She's 5'11" and last time I weighed her, she was 12lbs. As you all know, that's pretty big for a Borneo~ ;)

And my little male Diablo ~ He's a real picky eater which is disappointing because I wanted him to be breeding next season :grumps:

Yeah shes not fond of me. I have to handle her to clean her cage but once I put her down she gets worse. Thats how I got that shot of her coming out I just put her back in that cage after cleaning it and she wanted to thank me and share her teeth with me. :medvampir

My little female must of seen her do it because she tried the same thing with me.
