My royal python is in the shedding skin mode. His eyes have been cloudy for a couple of days now and he is overdue for a feeding. Would it be best to wait until he completes his shed or is it ok to feed him anyway?

he most likely will not eat, most snakes usually dont. wait until he sheds and remember that snakes can go a LONG time without eating, especialy ball pythons.

that's what i figured. but the strange thing is that i keep rats in my appartment with me in a seperate room. when i was cleaning there cages, i happen to pass the snake cage and decided to change the water dish. as i proceeded to take the dish away, my python suddenly emerged from his cave and began to come towards me. now i know i smelled like fresh rat, and this is what spawned my previous question. it just seemed like he was interested in some possible food. but thanx for your answere!! much appreciated!!

I would wait in any case. It has been suggested that feeding during shed can cause complications with the shed. I have no info to back this up but I figure it doesn't hurt to wait so why not? As far as changing out water with the smell of rodent, why did you do that. Why not just wash up?
