trying to eat rocks?

i just added soem limstone slabs into my beardies cage. and first thing she does it lick it then try to take numerous bites of it. i know they love calcium and i give her lots. anyoen else seen this? if she continues to do it ill take them out, darn beardei just doenst know how good they look :)

Im just throwing something out there i have no idea why your beardie would do that.

But maybe there is something on the rocks that she can taste, you could try washing it with a mild bleach and water solution. 1 part bleach to 10 parts water. i.e) 1 tbsp bleach to 10 tbsp water.

When using a bleach solution you have to make sure to rinse and scrub extremely well with hot water after using it.

But then again im not sure how that would effect the lime stone. lol maybe just use hot water and scrub the crap out of it.

only a acid woudl eat away teh limestone. i did let them soak in a bleach solution for awhile then rinsed in warm then hot water. this girl really likes calcium though. she eats it straight up out of my hand. ive been watchign her hanst been doing it i think she jsut was curious. now she just wants to dig under them. hehhe

i think it is just curiousity when i added another female beardie with my old one she ran up and started licking her side lol she also did it when i put slate rock in her viv to make a premo basking area but she just alround wierd :zi:
