First Time Boa Breeding

Hi
When cooling regular Columbian boas what should the daytime high and night time low be and how long should this cooling period be before I put the two together?

This is my first yaer trying to breed boas also, and what iv decided was due to the info I looked up. Apperently its better to shorten ther light cycles then heat, as low heat when breeding causes more slugs. Last year I tried the lowering of heat and had no responses, while this year I shortened ther day cycles around the middle of october and plan on lengthening them in january, This has worked and ive got alot better results so farthis season. I had some questions about this topic also cause im a beginner also. MY female is mounting my male, i wanted to know if this was common? My male doest seem to be interested.
Something else when your doing this is introduce your male in interval;s, like 3 days in 3days out. Some advice from some experienced boa breeders would be great.

I give my boas a hot spot of 86 degrees in the day time and I let the temp drop to room temp (75 degrees) at night and 6 hrs of daylight everyday now.I agree some advice or suggestions from the experts would be greatly appreciated.

86 sounds a little too cool for the hot spot, i would try to get that into the low 90's. unless your trying to cool them and this is not your average temps. i'm breeding dumerils right now as a warm up for when my morphs are of breeding size. your best bet would be to get the boaphiles video from their website. i'm going to pick one up after x-mas, and i've been told its very helpfull.

86 is WAY too cool for a hotspot.

Try and keep the day time ambient temp around 80-82F and provide a hotspot in the 89-90F. Reduce night time temps between 75-78F.

Ive only bred twice so far and both times I never needed to cool my boas. I used the same male both times on two diffrent females. First female I removed the male too soon and the second female went through 3 weeks with no power ( see was at a partners house). Neither female carried to EDD and both had nothing but slugs.

I have heard of alot of people not cooling there BCI and breeding them with no problem. Some breeders Ive talked to said its not even nessasary to cool them at all and they do just fine with out it and have nice sized litters.
